Director, Mileage Plus Member Insights and Analytics (HDQUV)- J Grade
Location: Chicago, IL (77 W. Wacker Dr.)

Responsibilities:

Strategy
• As thought leader for Mileage Plus analytics, direct all advance
analytic initiatives and facilitate coordination, prioritization and
across the business
• Leads overall database and customer analyses to identify actionable
customer insights
• Partner with Marketing Operations group to continuously develop the
infrastructure for effective and efficient member marketing
• Drive strategic role/relationship with internal/external partners;
socialize and evangelize key analytic initiatives, finding, and
implications with senior leadership and partners/peers across
organizations
• Work closely with internal business partners (e.g. marketing operations,
ecommerce, ISD, EO) and external partners to ensure success in enabling
successful analytic and campaign execution
Advanced analytics
• Develop long-term customer segmentation and customer insight roadmap
that leverages data-driven customer insights from MP/UAL data and enriched
with other sources where available (i.e. partners, 3rd parties, and
customer research)
• Where possible, supplement MP/UAL data with other sources, such as
partner data, 3rd parties, and customer research)
• Drive modeling and scoring to enable the execution of marketing
campaigns and business incentive targeted
• Conduct opportunity assess to inform and strengthen the business case
and strategy of marketing campaigns and business initiative
Campaign Analytics
• Make programmatic recommendations around continuous development of
marketing programs, pilots, tests, and new programs
• Drive in-market test execution including defining learning agendas and
measurement plans and ensure overall tactics/offers are feasible and
economically viable
• Continuously refine programs to effectively and efficiently drive
profitable member behavior
• Develop and maintain reporting scorecards on overall member marketing
performance, in addition to individual campaign performance
Customer Research
• In partnership with Customer Experience and research vendors, facilitate
the successful definition, execution, and reporting of member related
customer research
• Ensure that research insights are effectively communicated and
appropriately used to inform business decision
Campaign execution and database support
• Work closely with internal business partners (e.g. marketing operations,
ecommerce, ISD, EO) and external partners to ensure success in enabling
success analytic and campaign execution
• Drive process improvement and resource alignment for efficiency and
quality control, and efficiency of data required for campaign assessment
and execution
Management/leadership
• Develop, attract, and maintain talent; manage and motivate team of
employees
• Develop and hire skilled team to fill gaps as needed
• Set and proactively manage team goals including developing objective
collective and individual performance targets and rigorously measuring and
evaluating team (collective and individual) performance
• Champion and advocate for the interests of Mileage Plus with senior
leadership and partners/peers across organizations
• Negotiate with others so that Mileage Plus needs are met within the
constraints and priorities of other partners/organizations
Education:
• Masters required
• BA in Business Marketing, Finance, Statistics or quantitative field
Experience:
• 7+ years marketing analysis
• Customer segmentation and behavioral modeling experience required
• Experience in Behavioral Studies, Psychology or Social Sciences preferred
• Ability to use advanced analytical tools & statistics
Skills:
• Strong leadership skills including communication, business acumen.
• Must be comfortable working within a matrix organization building
relationships and championing new ideas.
