Small Business Communications Manager
This position is focused on strategic communications supportingYahoo! Small Business, with an emphasis on driving Yahoo!'s leadership in thiscategory. Since 1998, Yahoo! Small Business has helped millions of businessessucceed online. Yahoo! Small Business' user-friendly tools and robust partnernetwork provide a great selection of self-serve products and solutions that canhelp businesses of any size – from part-time hobbies to multi-million dollarventures -- get online and start growing. The successful candidate will be astrong writer, able to develop content and messaging for key communicationsdeliverables efficiently, by building and managing partnerships across theorganization. Collaboration is key. The role is responsible for ensuring that theoverall communications strategy is successfully executed across multiplechannels and coordinated across the PR, AR, IR, marketing, executive andproduct teams. This role requires the contributions of a strategic thinker whois also very detail- oriented and has the ability to juggle multiple projectsat once. 


Job Responsibilities 


· 30 – 40 hours/week
· Pitch small business customers and experts to consumer,business, and industry online, print, and broadcast media
· Manage media relationships and story development 

· Ensure overall PR strategy is comprehensive and consistentand takes into consideration the competitive nature of the internet industry
· Develop content to effectively communicate Yahoo!'s smallbusiness story across a wide variety of channels, such as videos, blog posts, socialmedia, and executive presentations 

· Collaborate with corporate and other communications teamsto develop and execute strategic, comprehensive plans that span multiplebusiness areas 

· Prepare spokespeople for media interactions, internalcommunications, and public appearances; this includes developing briefingmaterials and presentations 

· Experience working with international teams a plus 

Job Qualifications 

· 5 – 7 years of communications experience 

· Experience in a consumer, B2B, media, or advertisingbusiness, preferably in the Internet industry. 

· Experience developing content for various audiences,including industry, local officials, partners, clients, internal and media 

· Understanding of the small business industry withexperience working in traditional or online media company preferred. 

· Ability to strategize, plan, prioritize, and set timelines

· Drive delivery of work on multiple efforts concurrently 

· Ability to work seamlessly within the broader team toachieve desired results. Timeliness and quality of project deliverablesessential 

· Experience managing and influencing media opportunities 

· Demonstrated problem solving skills 

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills 

· Ability to extract salient information from multiplesources and synthesize information 

· Strong executive level presence 

· Superior organizational skills 



· Existing relationships with members of consumer, smallbusiness, or ecommerce press an added plus
