Position Responsibilities – Summary:
My client, a software firm, is seeking qualified candidates for a Director
SW Engineering – Web Apps. - This highly successful suite of applications
provides various services to not only the utilities, but to their customers
as well. With the industry now requiring consumers to have access to their
consumption history and means to conserve usage and modify their expenses,
the demand for these applications continues to increase.
The position is open due to growth in order to meet the increasing requisite
for my client's products and services.
This is an exciting opportunity for the right person as the product has
evolved to a point where a leader is needed to coordinate the development of
the individual components.
Summary:
The Director will be responsible for the full software product lifecycle of
the company-hosted consumer facing WEB applications and the intelligence
behind them. This includes all account and consumption features, mobile,
alert communications, analytics, home and business energy centers, third
party integration, customer service tools, and several complex engines.
There is a user base ranging from millions of customers of over 50 utilities
(residences, businesses) to internal utility employees (customer service,
operations).
Required Skills and Competencies:
· Be a responsible self-starter who is able to work with minimal
supervision - This position relies on experience and judgment to plan and
accomplish goals.
· Experience - A minimum of 10 years' experience leading teams
developing production, externally accessible web applications, preferably on
the C#/.Net platform.
· Proven track record of building, motivating, and advancing
efficient and technically strong teams.
· Proficient in managing to a budget and constraints among time,
functionality, and resources.
· Proven familiarity and experience in software engineering
development methodologies including agile methodologies with rapid
application prototyping is preferred, but not required.
· Experience in the energy or utilities sector is preferred, as well
as experience with some type of commercial software firm or Internet firm
with customer facing portals/web applications.
· Client facing experience.
· Demonstrated verbal, writing, and presentation skills
· Bachelor's degree in computer science (Master's preferred) or
related field or equivalent
