Zvents is looking for a seasoned sales professional to lead our channel sales efforts. The Zvents Channel Sales Manager will be the driving force in developing, launching, and selling Zvents unique value proposition to advertisers through the sales forces of our extensive network of publisher partners. This person must be a true media sales pro who can leverage a deep pool of experience in selling multiple products based on a consultative selling approach. The ideal candidate will have experience in selling both traditional media and online, and understand how different media complement each other. The candidate must be able to provide insights to our partners on how to effectively penetrate markets, categories and accounts with the power of time based events. This person needs to be as comfortable pitching on Madison Ave. as they are on Main St. and will have done both.
Key responsibilities:
Meet and exceed the revenue objectives for Zvents Premium Listings product by leveraging our channel partners sales teams and relationships.
Actively manage the launch of Zvents Premium Listings product to our channel partners and guide them in monetizing all aspects of the Zvents platform. This will include on-site and virtual sales training, conducting sales calls with partners, and managing the ongoing support and development of those partners both strategically and tactically.
Act as a product champion with our partners to drive increased revenues, distribution and page views within their organization and across the network.
Develop and implement programs to support sales partners (sales collateral, packaging and promotional ideas, advertiser follow up programs, best practices, sales incentives) by working independently as well as with the Zvents marketing team and the marketing teams of our partners.
Establish partner specific sales objectives, track results and provide guidance and feedback to maximize partner effectiveness.
Work closely with the marketing and product team to identify and prioritize product features and experiences that will drive advertiser and consumer engagement and lead to increased revenues. Work closely with marketing, engineering, and finance to improve the tools and reporting that we provide to partners and advertisers.
Experience & temperament:
10+ years of media sales experience working with local businesses, including at least 2 years in a management role.
Sales experience in traditional media (Print, TV, Radio, and/or Directories) and online media is critical.
A verifiable track record of sales success with an emphasis on new business development. Must be that perfect mix of consultative seller, fearless prospector, master motivator, and relationship builder.
Experience developing and managing channel sales.
Ability to do a lot with a little we're a start up and we need to be scrappy while accomplishing great things at a rapid pace.
A demonstrated self-starter who can stretch from strategy to execution. Skilled at working independently while understanding that their success relies largely on people that do not work for them (our partners).
Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, presentation and planning skills a must.
