Research Studentships in Law

The School of Law at King's College London is offering 11 PhD research studentships for up to 3 years each, commencing from 1 September 2009.

As one of the key members of the Russell Group of UK universities, a group consisting of the top 20 British universities, King's has a longstanding, internationally recognised record of world class research and the School plays a vital part in maintaining that reputation. The research student community at King's is vibrant and growing. We offer opportunities for your research to gain a wide audience within and beyond the College through our role in hosting the Graduate Students International Law Conference. This conference has been run by the School's graduate student community for the past three years and gives students the opportunity to have their work for that conference published with Hart Publishing. In addition, research students are offered the opportunity to acquire both training in HE teaching and real (and paid) classroom experience. We have over 90 research students drawn from across the globe and offer a dedicated, high quality suite of offices for students along with world class facilities necessary to enable you to complete the programme successfully and on time.

Five studentships will cover fees plus a stipend of £15,000 per annum and five will provide for fees only. The studentships are open to home, European and overseas applicants. One studentship is being offered in conjunction with Monash University, Australia.

While applications are welcome from those researching in any area of Law, applicants should consult our website http://www.kcl.ac.uk/schools/law/about/staff/ before applying in order to identify the availability of appropriate supervision.
